CAT 75-Day Sprint Plan (4 Hours/Day)

A week-wise plan covering QA, VARC, and DILR, with a mock-test schedule that ramps up as the exam nears. Assuming ~4 hours of focused daily study (Ideally 2 days for each section and One day for just mock)
How the 75 Days Are Structured
Days 1–42 (Weeks 1–6): Concept building, topic-wise practice, 1 weekly sectional/full mock
Days 43–56 (Weeks 7–8): Advanced topics + revision begins, mock frequency increases
Days 57–70 (Weeks 9–10): Pure revision + intensive mock phase (no new topics)
Days 71–75 (Week 11): Final mocks, error-log review, taper down
Week 1 (Day 1–7): Diagnose & Start Foundations
Section | Focus |
Day 1 | Diagnostic Mock (Mock 1) — take a full mock cold, to identify your starting baseline |
QA | Number Systems; LCM-HCF & Divisibility |
VARC | Build daily reading habit (editorials), RC basics (main idea, tone, structure) |
DILR | Basic seating arrangements, Venn diagrams |
Mock | Just Mock 1 (Day 1); spend Day 2 analyzing it thoroughly |
Week 2 (Day 8–14): Arithmetic Basics
Section | Focus |
QA | Percentages; Profit & Loss (with Simple/Compound Interest as a sub-part) |
VARC | Para-jumbles, Summary questions, continue daily RC (2 passages/day) |
DILR | Caselets, basic Data Sufficiency |
Mock | 1 Sectional Test (VARC) — Day 14 |
Week 3 (Day 15–21): Arithmetic Continued
Section | Focus |
QA | Averages; Ratio-Proportion & Mixtures/Alligations |
VARC | Odd-sentence-out, para-completion |
DILR | Games & Tournaments, Scheduling puzzles |
Mock | Full Mock 2 — Day 21 |
Week 4 (Day 22–28): Speed Math
Section | Focus |
QA | Time-Speed-Distance; Time & Work |
VARC | Abstract/philosophy-themed RC passages, critical reasoning in RC |
DILR | Data Sufficiency (advanced), Bar/Line/Pie graph sets |
Mock | Sectional Test (DILR) — Day 25; Full Mock 3 — Day 28 |
Week 5 (Day 29–35): Algebra
Section | Focus |
QA | Linear & Quadratic Equations; Inequalities |
VARC | Timed RC sets (mixed difficulty) |
DILR | Mixed puzzle sets (combine 2+ concepts per set) |
Mock | Full Mock 4 — Day 35 |
Week 6 (Day 36–42): Geometry & Mensuration
Section | Focus |
QA | Geometry — Lines, Triangles, Circles; Mensuration |
VARC | Full-length timed VARC sections (24 questions, 40 min) |
DILR | Full-length timed DILR sets under exam conditions |
Mock | Full Mock 5 — Day 42; start maintaining an error log from here on |
Week 7 (Day 43–49): Coordinate Geometry & Trigonometry
Section | Focus |
QA | Coordinate Geometry; basic Trigonometry |
VARC | Revisit weak passage types identified from mocks so far |
DILR | Revisit weak set-types from error log |
Mock | Full Mock 6 — Day 49 |
Week 8 (Day 50–56): Combinatorics & Progressions — Syllabus Closure
Section | Focus |
QA | Permutations, Combinations & Probability; Progressions (AP/GP/HP) & Logarithms/Surds — last new topics |
VARC | Speed-reading drills, timed full-length RC sets |
DILR | Timed mixed sets, no new set-types introduced |
Mock | Full Mock 7 — Day 53; Full Mock 8 — Day 56 |
Week 9 (Day 57–63): Pure Revision (No New Topics)
Section | Focus |
QA | Formula sheet revision, redo flagged questions from error log |
VARC | Re-attempt earlier RC passages you got wrong |
DILR | Redo every DILR set you previously got wrong, timed |
Mock | Full Mock 9 — Day 59; Full Mock 10 — Day 62 |
Week 10 (Day 64–70): Intensive Mock Phase
Section | Focus |
Focus | Mock-heavy week — every mock followed by a same-day analysis session |
Mock | Full Mock 11 — Day 64; Full Mock 12 — Day 66; Full Mock 13 — Day 68; Full Mock 14 — Day 70 |
Between mocks | Light revision only — formula sheet, common error patterns |
Week 11 (Day 71–75): Taper Down
Day | Focus |
Day 71 | Full Mock 15 (last full-length mock) + detailed analysis |
Day 72 | Light revision — formula sheet, DILR shortcuts |
Day 73 | 1 short sectional test (whichever section is weakest) + review |
Day 74 | Very light revision only — no new practice, review error log summary |
Day 75 | Rest, mental prep, re-read exam-day strategy notes — no studying |
A Few Ground Rules
Never skip mock analysis—spend at least as much time reviewing a mock as you did taking.
Don't introduce new topics after Week 8; last 3 weeks are for strengthening, not learning.
Track accuracy and time-per-question in a simple log — this matters more than raw scores.
